Why is local SEO so important for recruiters?
There are 250 billion stars in our galaxy.
Which is astonishingly, less than the amount of Google searches made in 2018.
It was somewhere over 2 trillion mark, if you're interested, but what's really important, is that a third of that search traffic is job related.
You best be taking SEO, and Local SEO seriously...
Watch the video, because who needs to even read anymore?
What is Local SEO?
It's a campaign to optimise your business listings, with the aim of being found more easily on searches using location based phrases.
These might be search terms like, 'recruitment agency in Stevenage'
The local results appear in what we marketing types like to call, the Google 3-pack.
This will include the three most relevant businesses for your search term, AND location, and will often include reviews, opening times, your address and contact details.
Why is it important for recruiters?
Trying to outrank the likes of Reed and Indeed, and everyone else, is tough. It is super competitive out there.
Trying to get traffic for 'Marketing Jobs' is always going to be a long on slog.
If you have a physical address, a store or an office location, you can use this to your advantage to rank for location search terms - where ever you are!
This means you can drive traffic, and customers, from your local area.
The traffic is laser-focused, more likely to convert, and looking for exactly what you do - where you do it.
And it helps your customers.
71% of visitors look up the location on their phone before visiting a business.
What do I have to do?
The basics of local SEO are:
• Google My Business • Your businesses NAP - your name, address and phone number • Citations
What are the benefits - or - why should I bother?

Did I say it's a platform for reviews?
If you can build reviews into your marketing arsenal, especially on your Google My Business listing, it helps you build authority and trust with potential customers - and is a ranking factor helping you with your overall SEO - meaning more traffic, more business.
It all sounds a bit 2008
Well, no.
The continual rise of local SEO is reflected and driven by the dominance of mobile search.
And now voice search is becoming more prevalent, which is often used by someone performing some other task - driving or walking, or taking the bus.
And it's often when trying to find a local business.
And a recent consumer review indicated that 57% of searchers will only engage with a business if they have a 4 start review, or higher.
